PICS & REVIEW FROM SYDNEY 23RD JANUARY Click here to check out the pics in a new window: tinyurl.com/32cvel(pics have been resized and are low-res) Seven of us came but 4 of us were front row centre. As Suffragette city melodically trailed off towards its final "wham bam thank you m'aam" the background music was cut and the band of the moment, the one that all of the Sydney crowd had waited so many years to see, exploded on the stage with 'Rush You'. From there it was a blistering carousel of light, sound sweat, power and just plain old Aussie rock fun! Have these guys aged? Well maybe the fella’s just a little. Suze looked amazing! Let me tell you their playing and their form was sharp, entertaining, and aggressive with all the energy and vigor of their performances in the 90's. What amazes me is how the tone of this band live truly represents the sound on the albums. Suze’s voice held up like a powerhouse. Unlike many bands & vocalists today, there is no ‘studio magic’ with Baby Animals It was great seeing the interaction of a band that genuinely looked happy to be back playing together. The little jokes between members were probably not intended to entertain the audience, and I am sure most of the audience didn't pick up on them. There was plenty of gags moments. Some deliberate, some accidental! (Ed got clocked on the head by Suze's Tele) but it really proved to me that these guys genuinely had fun on stage and that is what makes them and will always make them great.

Great shots Michael! I really get the feeling of being there at the show when I look at them. Thank you for posting the URL here... I was going insane trying to figure it out from the band MySpace comments... ;D
