Hello!
Thanks for visiting... we wanted to make a base for everyone to meet and interact with each other. Some are in MySpace, some are in Facebook, some are wary (and weary!) of both those networking sites... so here we are!
Show your appreciation of Baby Animals here... need a ride to a Baby Animals gig with someone? ask here!... post your show photos and experiences... all here!
Have fun, but please be responsible and respectful with your content and language! I'm not much fond of Dos and Don'ts, and prefer not to interfere unless somebody is being downright rude and offensive.
And that's it! I look forward to getting to know you all!
ROCK ON!!!
Cheers! Cat
Ps. If you have an issue with any of the posts, please PM me instead of flaming - thanks!

Hey, gang! ;D
My name is John and I'm from Memphis, TN. I discovered the BA back in 1991 when a local record store had their debut record available as a "no risk" purchase -- they'd refund your money if you didn't like it and brought it back. Ah, the pre-downloading days!
Needless to say I didn't take the CD back.
Was tickled to death when I got a phone call from a guy at Imago Records on my birthday in 1993. No, he wasn't calling to wish me a happy birthday. But he WAS calling to respond to a letter I'd sent the label asking about their promotional plans for the BA's second record. I practically begged them to have the band put out a live record or concert video.
Got to see the BA in Memphis when they opened for Robert Plant. I knew Plant was gonna be in town but I wasn't planning on going. I came home from work that evening and turned on the radio (which I NEVER do, I usually put on a CD) and it was the local rock station doing a live remote from the concert venue. The DJ said, "...and we're about an hour away from the Baby Animals taking the stage...". I went apenuts. I had no car available to me at that time but I did have a bit of cash, so I called a friend and begged her to drive us down there and I said I'd get us both tickets.
We got down there, the show was sold out, and I had to find someone trying to sell tickets. We got two, we saw the show, I borrowed $$ from my friend to buy a BA t-shirt, and we left about 2 songs into Plant's set. Her decision, not mine.
She wasn't a huge fan of the band, turns out, but she did like "One Word" okay enough.
Flash-forward about 6 months, and the BA are back in town for a club gig. Turn-out was kinda low and tickets were about 1/90th of what I paid for the two Plant tickets. I got to the club plenty early and got to listen to the soundcheck and chat with them for a bit during their dinner break. I told them I'd recently paid about a hundred bucks to see them play for a half-hour on the Plant tour and now I was getting a full show for about a buck and half. Dave Leslie in particular found that amusing.
During the show (which, again, was woefully underattended), Suze rubbed her hand through my hair a couple of times during one song in recognition of my, er, enthusiasm.
We hung out briefly at the band bus after the show, they autographed some promo posters for us, and I chatted briefly with Suze about some mutual friends we had in the Van Halen organization.
The BA had opened for VH on a leg of VH's 1991/1992 tour but not on the Memphis stop. Good thing, too. I had backstage and meet-and-greet passes at that VH show and all of that took place during the opening band's set. I would have hated to have to miss the BA show to go backstage to meet VH, but I also would have hated to miss meeting VH so I could see the BA set. Alice in Chains was supposed to open for VH on that Memphis gig, but the guitar player got snowed in out in Oklahoma and couldn't rejoin the band in time for that night's gig (the first gig after an extended break on the tour). A local band called DDT filled in. You've never heard of them, but two members of that band went on to form The North Mississippi All-Stars, a band that got some degree of fame and success later.
Years later I got Suze's solo CD and the Australian tour edition CDs of the two BA records courtesy of Red Eye Records in Sydney. The staff there was super-friendly and super-helpful.
I got to see Suze again at the Extreme reunion concert in Boston in 2006 but I didn't get to talk to her.
All the other BA/Suze recordings I ever got my grubby little hands on came courtesy of a dear friend who is connected with these boards. My endless thanks to that person!!!

I just like being RD here!
Also from the Central Coast. Been going to gigs ang gigs and gigs (and occasionally playing them) since well...before joshrichy was born. So I got to see all the great bands of Australia's Pub Rock heyday and unashamedly was a Chisel freak. First saw Dave in a Chisel covers band just pre-BA's (and him playing some of the same songs in Jimmy's band post-BA's). Gotta be the best guitarist in the land.
Anyway, had the priviledge of seeing Baby Animals about 15 times, from before the debut was released and that's 15 of the finest show's I've ever seen. The songs and the musicianship were unbeatable - can't wait to eventually hear new stuff. It was so unfortunate that the wheels "were removed". Suze, the definitive rock chick, has spent 18 years holding for me the place of "sexiest woman on the planet". (my wife knows this).
I got tix for Bimbagen (which I was in the process of buying when I discovered BA's were on the bill!) and Doyalson. Would have gone to Perth when there was the word of a one-off over there. (I would have too - like I went to London to see Led Zep...so this is the BIGGEST couple of months of my life for my favourite music).
Just saw some of the Price of Wales youtube stuff and I'm salivating with anticipation.
Go Suze, Dave, Frank and Ed!!!

Hi I am Michelle or Shelly. I live in Newcastle NSW. Australia. I was about 20 years old when friends of mine got to together to start a band. Covers such as AC/DC, Sabbath, The Cult and even Celebrite Rifles. After a few months of auditioning singers, they were quite frustrated at the fact of lot them didn't know the songs, let alone the structure or power required to deliver them. I was often called up (because I used to go watch them practise) to show these auditionists how the song was to be sung. After a few weeks of doing this, they decide they wanted me to be the singer. (what the?) So MIZZTREETED was formed and we introduced some chicky songs such as Melissa Etheridge, Concrete Blonde & Divinyls. A few weeks after getting all the set together to start gigging, the drummer, Gary Potts (POTTSY)came over and said "check this out shell" and handed me a BABY ANIMALS CD. Their self titled album of 1991. I was totally gobsmacked at this chick who could express her self with her guttsy lyrics, fifthly guitar playing and a presence I hadn't had experienced since Mel Etheridge. At the time, if I recall correctly, they didn't even play two female artists in a row on the radio. And as it goes the band had no choice in learning Baby Animal songs if they wanted me to keep singing. The first song we covered was "Ain't gonna Get", followed by "Stoopid" and "Livin Lovin Lies". If I had my way we would have been a Baby Animals tribute Band. lol yes, so I am a FAN through and Through. Always will be!

Hello. My name is Antti and I live in Finland. I'm turning 26 this march and I'm an amateur singer/songwriter and I have a solo project AAE. I'm a big fan of Extreme and when I heard long time ago that Nuno's wife Suze has this band Baby Animals, I went and bought Shaved and Dangerous. I didn't expect much of it, just wanted to have it cause it has some Nuno's backing vox and his acoustic playing on Because I Can. But I was hugely surprised that the album rocked and that Suze is such an amazing singer. This was 10 years ago and I dont't own other records from the band but I'm excited about the new albums coming out. If you want to hear my acoustic songs, head to either www.myspace.com/aaexperiment or www.mikseri.net/aae. The latter is in finnish but you can change the language to english there and you're good to go. Glad to be here and meet new cyber chumps from all over the world, mainly from Australia, it seems. Oh, and Tommy Emmanuel and the movie Mad Max totally kick ass!

Hey Antti Off topic but funny you should mention BA's and Mad Max in the same post. A friend who's coming to Doyalson is totally Mad Max obsessed. He has HEAPS of authentic memorabilia from the movie(s) in his house. He's doing a documentary on it and is actually interviewing (director) George Miller tomorrow, last year went to LA to interview Mel Gibson and is now a good friend of Hugh Keays-Byrne (The Toecutter) who also lives nearby. P.S. If there's any way you can get hold of the debut self-titled album in Finland, you definitely won't regret it!

Hi everyone, My name's Karena, I'm a born & bred Gong gal, Wollongong Rock City that is Huge supporter of the local scene, Baby Animals fan since I first heard them on the radio back in '91 as a 12 year old. Baby Animals was the first album I bought and it was flogged for much of the 90's until I started working to basically pay for my music obsession Never got to see the BA's live as they stopped touring just before I turned 18, still remember going past Waves with their name on the sign taunting me and my underageness (can I make that a new word?). I'm sure there's a heap of 'young teenager' fans like me around the place who have been salivating at the chance to FINALLY see the band who were such a part of their early teen years. Saw Suze play at the Mushroom 25 gig in '98 - pity about all of her in-ear foldbacks issues Then at the Metro in Sydney in '99 was it? And then the 2 nights at the Excelsior in Feb 2000. All great shows. Anyways, these days as I said I'm a huge supporter of the Wollongong music scene and there's a heap of awesome bands down here to keep me busy and happy. Also into gig photography and more recently videoing gigs. So you'll usually see me down the front with a drink in one hand and either a digital SLR or a HDD video camera in the other My gig photos - www.flickr.com/photos/ozrockpics/ and coming soon... www.karenahoyerphoto.comVideos - au.youtube.com/user/Karena78Hope to see some of you next time the BA's come to town! Hopefully Wollongong eh?...

Hi all,
My name's John, from Adelaide, South Australia. Huge BA fan from the early days. Never got to see the band then. Went all the way to Brisbane in '93 to see them and the show was cancelled on the day I arrived because Suze DeMarchi was sick, however did get to see her play a solo show in Adelaide a couple of years later (Dave Leslie) was part of the band, so I guess I got to see half the BA.
Hoping they will come to Adelaide soon, was planning to go to the Melbourne show but my Dad just had to have his 70th birthday that day as well, so couldn't really skip that although I was tempted.
So come on down to Adelaide, home of Cold Chisel, Masters Apprentices, and the town that Allanah Myles credits as the one that made her internationally known. (She had her first number one hit here.)

Hello there ! My name is Rita and I'm talking from Brazil .. I'm a long time Baby Animals fan. I live in the Sao Paulo state and I really hope the band come to Brazil in some point. Sao Paulo is the right place to rock !!! I don't live in the Sao Paulo city, but close enough to take a bus and see them ROCKING THE HOUSE live!!!!! I'll be waiting for you guys!
I knew them in 1992 , the radios here use to play EARLY WARNING and luck us a VJ of MTV loved the band so, late in the niht, we could to watch some of their videos ... Early Warning, Rush You, Painless .. I still have those recording in VHS tapes ... I need to transfer them to DVD for sure . It's a rare moment of our MTV Brasil ... Good old times when they play rock and roll , even late at night ! I can't say the sme in these days ...
Anyway ... I'm very happy because the band is back and especially I'm glad because they are sharing the new stuff with all the fans and having fun with it . I think this is all because of you Cat, thanks a lot for fit the band to this new Internet era. It's a shame when a band don't notice the power of the Internet and don't use it or even don't allow the fans of sharing stuff on line ... It's insane in the our real world . Maybe we should to open a topic about it uh ? ;-)
Well, I just wanna say how much I love this band and say I can't wait to hear the new album . I'm always searching for Baby Animals 'gooddies' , so if some fellow fan here would like to trade/share something, please email me !
Meanwhile , it's nice having a place to talk about the band! For the feedback on MySpace and here I'm sure THE BAND NOW KNOWS how much we miss them and how much we also appreciate all the updates! Thanks for the tunes and Keep Rockin' . All My love !

Hey all! I finally found myself some time to come here and say a few words.
Another huge Extreme fan here, also from Brazil! That's the reason I started to hear the Baby Animals like 10 years ago. I was impressed by Suze's powerful voice (looks too of course) and by the band's energy and all the catchy songs which now are classic. Also love Telelove since Nuno's all around, hehe, but of course because its songs are very well written and recorded in the 1st place.
I'm also a huge INXS fan (hint to all you Aussies out there! oh and Midnight Oil too btw... and Silverchair and AC/DC and...). So, I liked a lot the idea of having Suze sing for them when it was a possibility, no matter how odd it could sound. Too bad it didn't work out but I'm curious till this day to hear what they played together. Well, glad at least a couple of tracks she wrote with Andrew saw the light of day!
The Baby Animals reunion is definitely gonna be awesome, this is just the start, I hope. I never saw them live too so I hope I have a chance anyday (it's easier for me to cross their path than the contrary but let's see).
Last but not least, thanks to Cat for putting this up and for all the devotion to BOTH Nuno and Suze ;-) See ya all round here!

Its a pleasure to hear of the return of the Baby Animals! We've had to buy the same album several times as others nicked off with it at parties (tsk tsk)...there is no substitute.
The magic this band shared with us previously was unique. I hope to hear of a Brisbane gig down the track. It was a memorable night with the Baby Animals at the Playroom in Brisbane, 96. The smaller venues were a nice vibe.

Hey, Baby Animals! *crying tears of joy* My all time high favorite rockband has what??? You have reformed? OMG! I can't believe it.... That's soooooooo cool! I'm from [glow=red,2,300]Germany/Europe[/glow] I'm 46yo. I watched one of your shows via TV when you toured Germany ( Munich, Alabamahalle - that must have been in 1992 ?) It has been called ''Rock aus dem Alabama'' or ''Live aus dem Alabama'', I can't recall for sure. I fell in love with your music at once. Great musicians, great singer (I play guitar myself and know how to spot good musicians). I bought your debut album the next day and 17 years later I still play it on a regular basis. It's an album that you can listen to over and over, a 1000 times, and just like classic AC/DC tunes or the early Smashing Pumpkins stuff it never ever gets boring. I'm looking forward to join one of your shows, but therefore you'd have to tour Germany, again.... Keep up the good work! [glow=red,2,300]I'm so happy to hear about your reunion![/glow] Wish you all the best, Schlotte (sorry for the poor English)

I started Listenin to the Baby animals when I was livin in Australia 15 years ago, Im an aussie currently living in Canada married to a Canuck. Baby animals songs cut me through some horrble tragic times and lookin back I dont know what I wouldve done without my baby animals albums. Im a drummer of twenty years, I practice my chops every day for sometimes 8 hours straight, sometimes with no breaks(no food) but mostly I play drums to Baby animals with the stereo on full ball!!!My Neighbors ask whos the voice of the band and I do tell them the band is the baby animals. But no one knows who they are. Im determined to keep drummin loud to their stuff so the whole neighborhood finds out the hard way!!! Dont worry Im a good drummer. My neighbors like my drummin!!!!! hey!!!......does the band actually read this stuff?
